I Am KC Drama Anthology

KC Concepcion, I Am KC Drama anthology logoArghhh. I missed to watch the new TV show of KC Concepcion, “I Am KC.” Instead of expressing my frustration. I just collated the reactions of my friends who watched “I Am KC.” According to them KC Concepcion was funny and a natural. She complimented well with Ai-Ai delas Alas and Jake Cuenca. She was versatile with doing comedy and drama. We just have to wait on the next episodes of I am KC, which would tackle different genres.

Now on the not so nice comments, she sounded like delivering her lines on her TV commercial. This is my same comment from her acting debut in Maalaala Mo Kaya.

I just hope there would be a replay of this episode. I think I need to alarm this show on my cell phone just to make sure I won’t miss it again.

KC Concepcion is indeed a promising actress. Watch out Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin.

Bayani Fernando City

Bayani Fernando MMDA TarpaulinIt really disgusts me to see tarpaulin of Bayani Fernando for MMDA all over the city. It’s really disgusting! Every time I see it, it makes me think of how much all of these tarpaulin costs and who paid for it. With that, I can officially call Metro Manila as “Bayani Fernando City” now.

Bayani Fernando MMDA Tarpaulin in EDSA OrtigasMy only argument to this issue is that he abused his power and used public resources to his early Presidential campaign. I just hope the Ombudsman and the media would look to his matter. I really want to know how much these tarpaulin costs. Tarpaulin or signages for MMDA should be about informing traffic rules and not about posting large pictures of the MMDA Chairman. If you would equate it Bayani Fernando’s picture is much larger than the public announcement at the bottom of the tarpaulin. Isn’t that annoying?

What could we expect if Bayani Fernando would win as President in 2010? More tarpaulin I guess.

Janet Jackson's Discipline CD Review

Wednesday, March 26

Since it is yesterday’s hits on Monster Radio RX 93.1, I tuned in to Magic 89.9. It was a different experience since I am a Monster Radio listener. It was past 4 P.M and the current radio show was reviewing the CD album of Janet Jackson, “Discipline.” Janet Jackson’s first single to this album is titled, “Feedback.” The music video is well done and Janet Jackson looks yummy and sexy. And of course, Janet danced graciously and it was well choreographed.

Janet Jackson DisciplineBack to Magic 89.9’s CD review to Discipline, listeners got to rate Janet’s album, 5 being the highest and 0 being the lowest. With the listener’s reaction and the radio hosts, Janet Jackson’s Discipline album failed our expectations. I heard a comment that fellow artists like Mariah Carey and Madonna had evolved into something else but Janet Jackson was still stuck in her 80’s era.

I still love the song “Feedback.” I think I have to skip this CD though and just have to wait for the release of the new album of Mariah Carey, “E=MC2.”

Back to Magic 89.9, it just frustrates me that some of their DJ’s are saying bad things about other radio stations. Tsk tsk tsk.

Hot And Tired

Thursday night, 8 P.M.

I just got home from. Arghh… I don’t feel well. My eyes are burning and my throat is aching. I don’t like these signs. The only good is that I don’t have fever yet. What’s more interesting is that I encountered this middle-aged woman in the jeepney on my way home.

Since I am not feeling well, my look is somewhat floating. I was shocked that I was frozen looking at the middle-aged woman’s grocery bag placed on the middle of her legs. She gave a violated look, which I suppose she thought that I was peeping on her skirt. On every glance that I had with her, she keeps on pulling her skirt down and covering her groin part with the plastic bag. I was tempted to take pictures of her but I remembered that some of my readers were offended with the sleepy guy picture that I took.

Anyway, I just hope the lady would realize that I don’t mean any harm and I’m very harmless.

Marian Rivera’s Poor Talent Fee

Maja Salvador, Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista for SunsilkIf you were a TV addict like me for sure you would have noticed that aside from KC Concepcion, Marian Rivera is also one of top TV commercial endorsers now. For a regular person like us, we can analyze that celebrities TV endorsements are only based on their fame and great looks. But what’s so surprising is that Marian Rivera’s talent fee for Sunsilk is just the same with Heart Evangelista and Maja Salvador. The three of them received 5 Million each.

With Marian Rivera’s extreme popularity, I really thought that she was earning more like Piolo Pascual (10M for Clear) and John Lloyd Cruz (12M for Biogesic). So, what do you think is the problem with Marian Rivera? The answer…her diction and voice projection. I have learned that advertisers do not base talent fees on popularity and looks but also with diction and voice projection. I think that is just right, endorsers should be pitch perfect when delivering their lines or else the products they are endorsing will not sell.

I just hope Marian Rivera would take time in improving her flaws. She is losing millions and possible earnings. No wonder many advertisers are asking for her because her talent fee is cheaper compared to her popularity. Thank you to the magic of dubbing.

American Idol Top 10 Performance Night

American Idol Top 10 performance nightTonight’s theme in American Idol Top 10 performance night is the song from the year the contestants were born. Filipino Ramiele Malubay started the show with her interpretation to Heart’s “Alone”. Her performance once again was disappointing. What the heck, she has flu. Syesha Mercado’s performance was my favorite for the night. I thought that song was Alicia Keys original song when it was just a revival. I honestly like Syesha’s version than Alicia Keys.

I also like the performances of David Archuleta and David Cook. Would you believe that Kristy Lee Cook improved with her singing? She even chose a better song for her. David Cook was outstanding. He sang Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” with a different twist to it. He sang it impressively rocker style. He is the guy to beat in this season.

Here are the song choices for the Top 10 performance:

Chikezie - "If Only For One Night" - Luther Vandross
David Archuleta - "You're The Voice" -John Farnham
David Cook - "Billie Jean" -Michael Jackson
Jason Castro - "Fragile" -Sting
Michael Johns - "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" – Queen
Brooke White - "Every Breath You Take" - The Police
Carly Smithson - "Total Eclipse Of the Heart" - Bonnie Tyler
Kristy Lee Cook - "God Bless The U.S.A." - Lee Greenwood
Ramiele Malubay - "Alone" - Heart
Syesha Mercado - "If I Were Your Woman" - Stephanie Mills

Who should go? Jason Castro or Kristy Lee Cook! I can’t stand Jason Castro’s mellow sound with his drugged eyes. Even Kristy Lee Cook improved this week, there are better contestants than her.

How To Gain Your Page Ranks

I have been receiving questions on how I gained my Page Rank back. Here are the things I did that I got from a SEO eBook.

First, be reminded that Page Rank is all about links, links and links. Make sure to regularly check your Links page if the sites you have linked are still linking you. Linking them without them linking you will just drag your PR down. Erase immediately!

Second, still in your Links page, after checking if you are still linked with those sites, check with Google if that site is banned. If the site is PR 0 then the site might be banned. To double check, go to the Google website then search for the exact URL of the site (http://makoyskie.blogspot.com). If there are no search results then the site is positively banned. You must immediately delete their links or you will eventually be penalized and receive a PR 0. Take note that new sites are an exception to this since it will take time to be indexed in Google.

And lastly, review the Guidelines for Webmasters provided by Google. You might be doing stuffs that are actually prohibited. Better be safe than sorry.

Papaya Dance The New Craze In The US

Edu Manzano dance album Papaya danceIt was a shock to see in the news that the Papaya Dance is now the new dance craze in the world replacing Macarena. Even the hosts of Good Morning America danced to this song, isn’t that amazing. My friend who is vacationing in Dubai told me this news yesterday afternoon but I didn’t have the time to check it and blog about it.

Filipinos are really impressive. Who would believe that a dance craze here in the Philippines would make a mark in other countries?

I have to watch that video in YouTube. Hahaha! I just recalled my officemates danced to that song last Christmas party.

The Papaya Dance was included in Edu Manzano’s dance album and was popularized in his daily game show, “Pilipinas, Game KNB?” aired on ABS-CBN. Mel Feliciano choreographed the Papaya Dance.

Corazon Aquino Has Colon Cancer

former President Cory AquinoIt was announced by Kris Aquino and Senator Noy Noy Aquino that their mother, former President Corazon Aquino, 75, is suffering from colon cancer. She was diagnosed with colon cancer just two weeks ago

Kris Aquino in an emotional state read their statement in an interview with Korina Sanchez. Friends of the former President Aquino like Senator Franklin Drilon and Mayor Alfredo Lim cried as they told their heart-warming message to the former President.

The Aquino family wants the medical condition of the former President to be in private. They did not even release the stage of the former President’s cancer. We would just have to wait for the next medical bulletin from the Aquino family. Her mild chemotherapy would start today.

My prayers for Cory Aquino and her family.

Low Visitors Over The Holiday

Yesterday, I had a chance to go online and update my blog. It’s just disappointing that the number of visitors of my blog drop tremendously. The last two days I only received between 50 and 80 visitors from the usual 200+ visitors a day. Sigh… Are my frequent visitors gone to a vacation just like me?

Back to work again. Argh… I just hope our network problem in the office will be resolved today. And our Internet connection will resume. I just hope so.

When Timawa Meets Delgado Movie Review

I learned about “When Timawa Meets Delgado” when I saw its movie poster on my landlady’s door. Apparently, she is the Production Manager of this movie. When we got to talk, she told me that it was shown in Iloilo last January and is currently showing in Robinson’s Mall here in Manila. She eventually invited me to watch it. Just this week, she came knocking on my door and gave me a DVD copy of their movie, “When Timawa Meets Delgado.” I only got to watch it last Thursday.

The movie is an independent film that tackles about students taking up Nursing. The film showed that majority of nursing students were forced by their parents and peers. They were even attracted by the large remuneration by working abroad. The film also showed that some nursing students are second courses meaning they shifted to Nursing from a different course.

The film evolved with two main characters, Timawa and Delgado. Both artists but suddenly wanted to study Nursing because they failed in chosen fields. Timawa is a poet even won acclaim for his poem, “The Pig”, while Delgado is a videographer for events like birthdays and burials.

The movie was actually boring. It ran for about one and a half hours but it seemed forever. The only saving grace for the film is the wonderfully written poems narrated by who knows who. I even find the movie incomplete. If only the movie tacked about the life of a nursing student and nurses, it could have been interesting to watch.

Happy Easter

I finally arrived here in my apartment in Pasig. I woke up around 8:30 A.M., had my breakfast then took a bath. I was surprised with some changes in Paranaque. To name a few, I noticed that the center islands in Paranaque are colored red and yellow. There are even new establishments that I noticed. There are spas, auto repair shops and condominiums. I still can’t believe that the condominium near KFC Coastal Mall is finally opening and on its final touches. Speaking of condominium, the building near MRT Magallanes is finally opening as well.

The long weekend helped me rest and gave me time to spend my vacation with my family. I also had fun experiencing for the first time the Catholic’s Visita Iglesia last Maundy Thursday. From Rosario Church to our last stop at Redemptorist Church at Baclaran.

Happy Easter guys! I hope the holy week helped us reflect and strengthen our faith in God.

Pacquiao Marquez Rematch

Manny Pacquiao’s latest win is the talk of the town. Filipinos are rejoicing and are very proud of Pacquiao’s latest achievement. Marquez’ camp and some observers expressed their disappointment over the split decision of the judges. I’m not a boxing expert but I think Pacquaio deserved his victory. I know that Marquez ended strong in the 12th round but that’s not the basis of boxing. It is based on the cumulative points from round one to the last round with the exception of a knock out.

From the sports news last night, I assume there would be a final rematch for Pacquiao and Marquez given that they have scored one each on their bouts. If Marquez should have won the competition, does this mean that the promoters and judges let Pacquiao win so there could be a rematch? That means more money for all them. Just my thoughts.

Globe Telecoms’ Network Error

Last Friday night, I experienced problems in using my cell phone. I wasn’t able to call and send text messages. I think it started around 7 P.M. and Globe’s services resumed by Saturday morning. Can you believe I can’t even call their customer service hotline 211?

According to a friend, Globe Telecom had a selective error problem meaning to say some Globe subscribers may not able to call and text. What’s so alarming is that just yesterday around 2 P.M., I couldn’t call and text again. I asked my housemate, who is a post paid Globe subscribers, if he can call and text. According to him he can. I borrowed his cell phone and called Globe’s customer service hotline 211. According to the customer service agent, my cell phone number is included in the series of prepaid numbers that are being updated.

What’s going on with Globe? Updating their system should be made 12 midnight onwards when people aren’t using their service. Are they doing this to their post paid subscribers as well or just to the prepaid subscribers? Tsk tsk tsk to Globe Telecom.

Marian Rivera’s Unthawed Tongue

Marimar Sergio Marian Rivera Dingdong Dantes pictureMarian Rivera is definitely the biggest star of GMA 7, replacing the now Kapamilya star Angel Locsin. If you have been watching local channels, for sure you have seen Marian Rivera’s latest TV commercial. To name a few: Del Monte Fit & Right, Maxi Peel and her latest from SunSilk Shampoo.

I was really shocked to hear her lines from the SunSilk Shampoo commercial. I actually didn’t notice if there were grammatical errors but what struck me the most was the way she pronounced her lines. As if she was new in speaking in English. I suggest that she practice her English. Instead of believing her in the commercial, it felt like she was trying hard a lot. Her new Maxi Peel commercial is better though. She speaks well and her words aren’t that hard to my ears.

After the success of Mari Mar, Marian Rivera is now doing Dyesebel. According to a press release, the finale episode of Mari Mar sky rocketed the TV ratings surpassing the high rating of the former TV show of GMA 7’s Darna. Would Dyesebel be another hit? Let’s just see.

Sudden Drops Of Page Ranks

Last week, I experienced a Page Rank drop of 0 from 4. From the reactions that I received from PBS Yahoo Groups, many bloggers have experienced sudden drops from their Page Ranks. Some bloggers pointed out that if you are doing paid reviews, it might have contributed to the sudden drops. I have researched on this matter and have discovered that linking to sites that aren’t linking you back is actually pulling your Page Ranks down. The concept of Page Rank is to gain more links. The more links, the higher your Page Rank will be.

Last Thursday night, I was surprised to see from my Google Toolbar that my Page rank returned but it was only Page Rank 3. I have asked friends to check if my Page Rank returned. According to them, it was still 0. The next day, I checked it again and it was PR 3. Yahoo! I just have to work on my exchanging links to gain more PR.

Still Friday, I received a YM message from a fellow blogger. According to him, his PR also returned without doing anything. Are we bloggers just being paranoid or what? Or we have been engrossed with Page Ranks and Search Engine Result Page (SERP) rankings?

Pacquiao Marquez II: Unfinished Business

Manny PacquiaoPacquiao Marquez II: Unfinished Business, the battle of two champions was aired here in Manila around 2 P.M. in GMA Channel 7. While I was having my lunch at the eatery, it was announced on ABS-CBN News Update that Manny Pacquaio won over Juan Manuel Marquez in a split decision of the judges. Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez finished the twelve rounds.

The first two rounds, Marquez dominated the ring. It was noticeable that Pacquaio had some problems with his balance and he looked disoriented. On the third round, Pacquiao gained his composure and made Marquez fall. On the seventh round, both Pacquiao and Marquez are bleeding caused from their unintentional head butts. Marquez dominated the eighth round because Pacquiao can’t see from his right eye caused from the blood flowing from his wound. On the tenth round, Pacquaio blazed throwing heavy punches on Marquez’s head.

Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao! You made us proud again.

My Ganglion Cyst Is Back

Ganglion cystI think it was last, last week that I noticed that my left wrist was again aching. It freaked me out to notice that there was a small bump near my surgery scar. Over the weekend, it was gone. To my disappointment, this week it’s back again and it’s gaining size. Nooooooooo! Not again!

I think it was two years ago when I had removed my ganglion cyst on my left wrist. I still can remember the pain I went through and how swollen my left hand looked like. I also can recall that my Doctor told me that there is a possibility that my ganglion cyst would come back.

If this cyst would gain more size, I don’t have a choice but to have it removed by surgery. Or I should look for another option. Anyone knows how to aspirate? Just kidding!

Check my No More Ganglion Cyst post to see the picture of my cyst.

David Hernandez, The Stripper Bid Good Bye

David HernandezBottom three last Thursday night in American Idol Season 7 Top 12 was Syesha Mercado, Kristy Lee Cook and David Hernandez. Each of the bottom three finalists performed their Lennon-Mc Cartney song. The ever-confident David Hernandez was voted off from America’s 29 million votes.

Does this mean that America chose to vote off David Hernandez because of his bad past? If you still don’t know, David Hernandez worked as a male lap dancer dancing for males. It’s just sad that he was voted off. I really thought it would be Kristy Lee Cook that would say good-bye.

Who should win based on the Top 12 performance? A definite Carly Smithson!

The so called villageYesterday night I was able to talk to my land lady. She handed me a form to sign, which according to her our so-called Homeowners Association suddenly planned to have an ID System in our village. The Homeowners Association even planned to build a guard post on the main entrance of the village. This is the hardest and funniest—no one will be allowed to enter unless you have an ID. That news really made me laugh hard. If I would describe our so-called village, it won’t even fit to be called as a village. No more description to tell though.

This Homeowners Association should know that even exclusive villages don’t have an ID system. Try to improve first the peace and order of the village. How about prohibiting the drinking of liquor and late night karaoke before you go to the next level?

Spitzer Resigns In Sex Scandal

Eliot SpitzerLast night, I was able to watch the announcement of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer resignation effective Monday noon. He resigned after a wiretap conversation of him hiring call girls emerged. Thousands of text messages and email messages were also found. According to sources he hired call girl services at least 8 times and he allegedly paid thousand of dollars.

Gov. Eliot Spitzer was with his wife during the press conference. He mentioned that he would leave his political life to concentrate on healing himself and his family. Gov. Eliot Spitzer was known for his proposal to legalize same-sex marriage and allowing illegal immigrants to be issued with driver’s license.

Philippine politicians should emulate Spitzer for resigning.

All-New American Idol

American Idol last night was all-new! Their new set was impressive and it was so huge! American Idol even has a new opening credit sequence. You can notice that only the high grossing American Idol winners like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks were showed in the ending of the credit sequence. I pity Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks. They were even dropped from their record label, J Records.

The Top 12 finalists were all impressive. The judges were right when they said that this is the most talented season ever. From last night’s performance, I like the performances of Carly Smithson’s “Come Together” and David Cook’s “Eleanor Rigby.” It was just disappointing that David Archuleta and Ramiele Malubay did poor in their performances.

Who will be out tonight? Watch for the results night tonight at Star World, 8 P.M.

And oh, I’m excited to hear the new good-bye song for this season? What is your preferred song?

Silenced Witness, Surprised Lacson

Panfilo Lacson and Leo San MiguelLast night while I was watching late night news from ABS-CBN News Channel and QTV, I finally saw the latest witness of the ZTE NBN Broadband deal Senate hearing, Leo San Miguel. According to San Miguel, he was a technical consultant for ZTE. It was a big slap in the face for Senator Panfilo Lacson since his camp was building up this surprise witness even mentioning that Leo San Miguel knew about the kickback money.

To Senator Lacson’s surprise his own witness fooled him. San Miguel denied the he has direct knowledge in the alleged kickbacks in the ZTE NBN Broadbad deal. I was even fascinated with their argument regarding the email attachment. Senator Lacson felt that he is that good with techie stuffs when in reality Leo San Miguel knows better.

Is Leo San Miguel lying? I don’t know who to believe anymore.

Mariah Carey’s Touch My Body Music Video

Mariah Carey in Touch My Body music videoYey! I have finally seen yesterday the new music video of Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body.” Since I don’t seem to catch it on MTV and MYX, I have opted to watch it on YouTube. The music video showed Mariah Carey’s lighter and comedic side. The music video was refreshing to watch since Mariah was bubbly and was having fun with the geeky IT guy with her in the music video.

Reactions to Mariah Carey’s new music video are mixed. I have read praises to Mariah’s better-shaped body and her new sound. Some have criticized her showing of her breasts and thighs. I even read that Mariah needs to retire.

With current trend of Mariah Carey’s Touch My Body song in the Billboard charts, I think this will be her 18th number one song. E=MC2, Mariah’s 11th studio album will be out on April 15, 2008.

Nationwide Transport Strike

Yes, I am a victim of this ridiculous transport strike! When I woke up this morning, I immediately tuned in to the news to check if I would be able to go to the office. At ABS-CBN and GMA 7’s morning show, they just announced that some schools have no classes and they only showed some places except for Pasig. I was having this thought of going back to sleep when I realized that I have tons of work to do in the office.

Transport Strike March 11, 2008When I got in the Loading section of our village, I was surprised with the huge volume of passengers. It was a hot morning so most of the people are not in the good, or it’s just me. Tricycle drivers are even insensitive to the passengers. They were asking us to go home and even “barkering“ for a ride to Cubao and Crossing. How silly!

Transport Strike March 11, 2008I just don’t get it why these drivers join in transport strikes when their families would only suffer. If they want to protest, why would they have to make the lives of the commuters miserable? I honestly don’t know the reason of their strike. I just hope it would be resolved ASAP.

The only good thing that happened to me this morning is the impressive way the traffic enforcer talked to the jeepney drivers asking them to give us a ride. Thank you to that traffic enforcer and Mr. Jeepney driver. I just have to worry how will I able to go home later. Good luck to me! Anyone with a car passing Life Homes, please give me a lift.

Bayani Fernando For President?

Last week, I saw a large tarpaulin of MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando at three different places. The first one was at the flyover in POEA, second at MRT Taft Station and the third was in IPI, Pasig.

Bayani Fernando for President? The first time that I saw this tarpaulin, my face turned sour. Not again, Mr. Bayani Fernando. I think it was last year that I saw a birthday greeting banner for Bayani Fernando posted in the overpass at SM Mega Mall. I made a critic about it in my blog including the picture of course. The next day the banner was not there anymore. I still can recall how opposed MMDA are with the posting of tarpaulin and campaign materials in the streets, when their Chairman is the number one offender.

I just don’t get it why is there a need to include Bayani Fernando’s picture in the tarpaulin. As if his money was used in these tarps. I think he is already campaigning for Presidency in 2010. Choose a better picture next time Mr. Fernando, you look haggard and full of problems.

To our public servants, be reminded that the funds you are using are coming from the taxpayers. It’s just disappointing that the tax the government is charging to employees are sometimes used in “non-sense” projects. Public officials are elected to serve and not to do photo shoots and advertise every projects they finished. It’s your job for God’s sake.
