Singapore Chef Makoy

After almost a month of stay here in Singapore, I only have cooked three dishes. Just dismiss the first one since it is only an instant noodle. Hehe. I have cooked instant Lucky Me pancit canton, sinigang na baboy (Pork with taramind soup) and Nilagang baboy (Pork stew). I would indicate the instructions on how to cook and the ingredients as well. Singapore Chef Makoy on board!

Singapore Food

So far here are the yummy food in Singapore I have feasted on. Before ordering make sure to ask Auntie or Uncle (that's what you call the elderly here) if the food is spicy or not.

Date With Ligaya

Piadina mixed seafood pastaMy blogger close friend Mommy Nokk (recently known as “Ligaya”) and I went to our last lunch and last movie together yesterday. Before that she went to my place in Pasig where she bought some of my stuff. Her son, JR was her driver for that day. We just took the cab from my place to Robinson’s Galleria since her son has something else to do. I just had a hard time getting us a cab. The driver of the cab that we got was even grumpy. I just hate those types of drivers. As if we aren’t going to pay.

Ligaya and MakoyAll in all I have four paper bags with clothes and stuff, one gym bag with clothes and my laptop bag. Since I won’t be able to carry the other stuff to Paranaque, I have decided to just pick it up the next day. I have left my books there as well as my dirty clothes and my other bag loaded with noodles and my passport.

We arrived at Robinson’s Galleria past 12 in the afternoon. I only had crackers in the morning that’s why my stomach was growling. It was Ligaya’s treat for my lunch. We dined at my favorite Piadina. We both had mixed seafood pasta with fried mozzarella. That was really yummy especially with the spicy olive oil and parmesan cheese. We enjoyed our lunch even we were in a hurry to catch the 1:55 P.M. movie schedule of Caregiver. We arrived at the cinema at exactly 2 P.M. After the movie, we went to the grocery to pick up our things in the baggage counter. It was a real torture to carry all my things. I need a hard massage after that. After our short goodbyes, I took the bus to Paranaque. I was really exhausted as if all my energy was drained. I want to sleep but I worry that my things will be stolen. After the bus reached Ayala MRT, I slowly drifted away. I made it in our house before 6 P.M. I was even playing with our new dog named “Yuri.”

Spaghetti Factory Review

Last Saturday, I went to SM Mega Mall with a friend to have lunch and to bowl again. We dined at Spaghetti Factory at Building B. I was attracted to eat there because the food from the tarpaulin looked yummy and it was almost affordable.

fried calamaresWe ordered for fried calamares, pesto pasta and Lean pork combo. The restaurant looks nice. I’m just not comfortable with their tables and chairs. And they serve very slowly. I even noticed that the customer beside us was served first even we came early than them.

lean pork with riceWith regards to the food, it tasted okay and was even presented nicely. And have I mentioned that they serve big? My lean pork with rice was even good for two people. I just hope I could try their pizza and other specialties.

Setting aside the food, I was really disgusted that their comfort room smelled awful. You can’t even lock the doorknob. At the sink of the wash area, I was surprised to see a Safeguard soap instead of a liquid soap. Aren’t they aware that bar soaps are just for one person?

Food At Mr. Choi Kitchen

As promised to my friend, I treated him for dinner last Tuesday. We dined at Mr. Choi Kitchen at Robinson's Galleria. It was my first time to eat there and I was really impressed with the restaurant’s design and the feeling that you’re well off, just a feeling though. We had Yong Chow fried rice, beef with vegetables and sliced calamares. The serving was great! A single order can be good for two to three persons. And have I mentioned the nice presentation of food? Just look at the pictures for you to decide.

The only problem that I had with Mr. Choi Kitchen was their slow service especially when I asked for our bill. It almost took 30 minutes before I had a look at my bill. My friend and I were making up stories that the reason why it’s taking up too much time was because our bill was referred to their main office then was transferred to their internal and external auditors. After it had passed the auditor, it was transferred to BIR. Hahahaha!

Aside from the slow service, I had a problem with their chili sauce. I am very certain that it had anise on it. I am somewhat allergic to it. I usually get dizzy when I had it or even when I smell it.

Ready To Move

Pupung and Friends Lechon KawaliLast Friday after work, I met with a friend and went to Mall of Asia. We had dinner at Pupung and Friends. The place is really great. It has comic strips all over the restaurant and has fancy lampshades still with comic strips. Cute fast food resto!

I had Lechon Kawali, which was great and was very affordable at 75 pesos only. Just add 18 pesos for the ice tea then your dinner is solved. After dinner, we went to the department store and checked out the stuffs I would need for my new apartment. Pillows actually cost 300+ pesos apiece; foam mattress cost 1,200 pesos minimum and bed sheets priced at around 600 pesos.

Sigh… Reality bites that living independent cost a lot. I’m just optimistic that I can make it. I’m excited of finally fulfilling one of my dreams.

Last Friday at Manukan Station, Metropoint. The serving is only fit for a child and it cost too much. Would you believe this meal with Pepsi cost around 80 pesos?

Lunch at Mann Hann

Mann HannFriday lunchtime, my boss treated us lunch to Mann Hann at MegaMall. We were supposed to have it last week, but since my other officemate is on official business, it did not push through. My boss jokingly offered to eat at Jollibee, Kenny Rogers, Mc Donald’s or any fast-food chain that serves chicken. My boss knows that I don’t like chicken.

Mann HannMy boss and her friend went first to MegaMall, 30 minutes before lunchtime. My officemates and I just followed them by lunchtime. When we arrived Mann Hann, only the broccoli with oyster sauce is served. We can’t help not to eat and treated the broccoli as appetizer. After a short while the fish fillet, yong chow rice and other viands arrived. We left Mann Hann at around 1:15 P.M. and arrived the office by 1:30 P.M. I was so full that I missed my coffee break at 4 P.M.

By the way, it’s my idea to eat at Mann Hann.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Yesterday after work, I met with my friend at Shangri-La to get his card and load dues for the cut-off. After that we bought globe prepaid cards at StarMall and replenished my e-load wallet at Wi-Max. After that, I went back to Shangri-La and went to Rustan’s Supermarket. I bought some toiletries and apple cider vinegar.

Apple Cider VinegarAccording to my research, vinegar actually cures acne. I would like to give it a try since I suffer from bacne. It really bothers me having pimples on my back. Anyway, according to the instructions on the sites I’ve seen, you can apply the apple cider vinegar directly to your skin or dilute it first with water. For better results, you may add tea tree oil and apply it on the affected areas with cotton. Let it stay for ten minutes then rinse. I’ve been doing it for two days now. I hope to see results soon.

Chiggy'sAnyway, still yesterday, we had dinner at Mall of Asia. We tried dining at Chiggy. We had grilled squid and liempo. The food tastes yummy especially the grilled squid. Not only is the food delicious but it is also very affordable. I just can’t remember which side of Mall of Asia it is located.

Series Marathon

Friday finally wasn’t a toxic day for me. After days of laboring in a single management report, it’s finally over. I also finished fixing bugs in my two systems. I haven’t started though with the system enhancement of my other program even it is due last Friday. I know the bosses knew I was preoccupied doing their report.

Karate KidAfter work last Friday, I went straight to UP Manila. My friend invited me coz there’s a function for the 1st year nursing students. The students wore Japanese inspired outfits. Sailor Moon was there, ladies in kimono and guys in Japanese bathrobe like outfits. The first year students had dance and acting presentations inspired with their Zen theme. We did not finish the presentation and went straight to Robinson’s Place Manila. We tried dining at Karate Kid and had the Ika combo. Compared to Tokyo Tokyo, Karate Kid’s combo has more serving and it comes with bottomless punch and rice of course. I would definitely eat again there.

Today, I woke up 11 in the morning. Had century tuna for breakfast. After my breakfast, I locked myself in my sister’s room and went on a DVD marathon. I first watched Hills Have Eyes 2, very gory scenes by the way, and then I watched Grey’s Anatomy. Anyway, by 3 P.M., I felt hungry so I stopped watching, had my exercise first, took a bath then had my late lunch. After lunch, I continued with my Grey’s Anatomy marathon. The last episode that episode that I’ve seen was George and Izzy had sex and they kept it a secret to George’s wife. I’ve also seen the episode where Meredith almost died from hypothermia. Meredith’s mom died on that episode. I shed some tears from that episode. After I had dinner at 8 P.M., my sisters and I watched two episodes of Lost.

Would read now Song of Solomon. I’m on the middle of the book now. Hoping to finish it next week. Nyt!
