Susan Boyle Cameo on Glee Season 2

Susan Boyle will appear on the next season of Glee specifically on the Christmas episode. According to Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy, Susan Boyle will play as a lunch lady. He even said, "I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don’t even know if she’s interested but it’s been pitched."

Aside from Susan Boyle, Glee fans can expect a Christmas album from the gang. Susan Boyle and the Glee cast belong to the same record label, Columbia.

Quentin Tarantino, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson in American Idol Next Week

Next week in American Idol, the contestants will perform songs from the movies. Quentin Tarantino, director of "Kill Bill" will mentor the remaining Top 8 contestants next week. I'm just not sure why a film director such Quentin Tarantino was chosen to mentor. Does he even have a musical background?

Anyway, on the different note. American Idol alumni Jennifer Hudson will perform next week alongside young superstar Miley Cyrus. Both Jennifer and Miley are known to be singers and have performed in their movies singing.

Let's just see what will the remaining top 8 contestants will perform especially Adam Lambert. I hope Lil Rounds will be booted out!

American Idol 2009 Top Downloads Week and Result

This week, the American Idol 2009 contestants had the chance to do current songs as this week's song choices are the Top Download songs in iTunes. Most of the contestants performed well except for the Megan Joy Corkrey. Thank God she was eliminated. No more squeaky and cracky voice from her. Yahoo!

In my opinion, Kris Allen is the best this week with his rendition to the song "Ain't No Sunshine." Adam Lambert as always is in in "A-game" and Scott MacIntyre was smooth and performed very well. He should have chosen a current song but I am still very impressed with his performance. He can really sing, that's what I can say. My favorite from the start Anoop Desai fall flat with his Usher rendition, but quite okay.

Danny Gokey surprisingly received praises from the judges when I clearly heard him shouting the whole time. Matt Giraud sounded amateurish and trying to sound like "The Fray."

Lady GaGa and David Cook To Perform In American Idol

The current American Idol winner David Cook together with singing sensation Lady GaGa will perform this week on American Idol. This is the first time David Cook will return on the American Idol stage after he won last year.

I am excited to see Lady GaGa’s performance. She’s singing her latest single, “Poker Face” from her debut album. And what will she wear? I hope she can top the outfit with bubbles and underwear that she wore. On the other hand, David Cook will be performing his new single “Come Back To Me” from his self-titled debut album.

This week by the way is the “Top Downloads theme.” I wonder what the contestants will sing.

American Idol Motown Week Performance

This week, the American Idol contestants performed Motown songs, the pioneer music for black people. If you don't know Motown music, here are some of their greatest artists: Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, The Tempations, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Night.

This week was impressive. There are really performances especially for Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. The last line from Adam Lambert gave me chills. The bubbly Megan Joy though was a disappointment. She was better last week when she had a flu.

Michael Sarver was booted out tonight. He should have been booted out last week.

American Idol Season 8 Top 11 Performance

I just finished watching the Top 11 performance minutes ago and I was very impressed with Kris and Anoop's performance. Of course my favorite Scott did as well for me. And as usual, Danny Gokey was over rated. Thank God not all of them liked his performance. And the shocking of all was Matt Giraud's performance. It was very pitchy. I just listened to his performance again to make sure. Anyway, I am posting the videos of Kris and Anoop's performance here. Kris Allen song by the way "To Make You Feel My Love" is the version of Adele.

American Idol New Rules

As I have mentioned in my other personal blog, I was out last night. I went to the IT show in Suntec City to check out some digital cameras. Because of that I wasn't able to watch the elimination round of American Idol for the Top 13 round.

This evening I was able to watch it on my laptop. Thanks to the wonders of the Internet. Jorge Nunez and Jasmine Murray went home this Michael Jackson week. Too bad, Michael Jackson did not appear or mentor the contestants. That would boost low his career.

Super ego singer Kanye West performed as well as Kelly Clarkson. Haha, I skipped Kanye's performance. It was all synthesized anyway. Kelly Clarkson's appearance in Idol after nine years look horrible. She looked scared to the judges and was a bit tensed. She didn't even have eye contact with the judges. I'm just curious on what's going on her head. Speaking of Kelly Clarkson, Ryan Seacrest mentioned that every week winners of the past seasons will guest the show. I can't wait for Carrie Underwood and Fantasia's guesting.

And have you heard the new bye bye song of this season? It's Carrie Underwood this time with her rendition to Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home." I have to listen again to that song. I hope it will be a hit like Daniel Powter's "Bad Day."

Before I forget, there's a new rule in American Idol. The management of American Idol have decided to give a pass to a contestant if he or she was on the bottom two. The judges should have an unanimous vote if they want to save him or her. This pass can only be used once on every contestant until the Top 5. That way, there would be no Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry contestants to say goodbye early on the show. Nice new rule for the deserving contestants.

ABS-CBN's Official Statement on MMK 'Blusa' Episode

ABS-CBN has finally released a statement regarding the authenticity of the MMK "Blusa" episode. In that episode, Angel Locsin played a summa cum laude graduate of UPLB. Her character wasn't able to find a job and ended up being a stripper in a club in Manila. At the end of the story, she went crazy. With the help of ABS-CBN, she's now in a mental institution.

Here is ABS-CBN's official statement: "Storytelling in Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) is always based on narratives sent to the program by people who want to share their stories. MMK decides to go into production of the chosen stories, ONLY after the letter sender has signed a waiver attesting to the authenticity of the story sent.

MMK recognizes that a number of UPLB alumni are questioning the truthfulness of one letter sender who claims that her sister, the main character in “Blusa” essayed by Ms. Angel Locsin, was indeed a UPLB BS AgriBusiness, summa cum laude graduate, who could not find a job and ended up as a stripper.

When MMK found out about the adverse reactions, the MMK production group went back to the letter sender to inform her of the issue raised and to re-verify her account. She reiterated that she stands by her story.

Be that as it may, and after careful deliberation, MMK realizes that its writing and research pool may have been remiss in one thing----verifying with UPLB the veracity of the indicated facts of the letter sender. Having said that, MMK sincerely apologizes for the oversight.

MMK always aims for truth and excellence. This incident may have deviated from its tight norm, but rest assured that MMK will continue to serve its publics with utmost care and respect."

American Idol Season 8 Top 13 Performance Night

Hours ago, I finished watching the Top 13 performance night of American Idol Season 8. I honestly feel that this is the best contestants yet. Most of them actually performed well compared to the usual Top 12 performance night of other seasons. This week by the way are from Michael Jackson's song book. I just hope he will have a surprise appearance in American Idol tomorrow. Well, there are rumors that he will appear. Let's just find out tomorrow.

Anyway, my favorites Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta did well while my two other favorites Anoop Desai and Scott MacIntyre wasn't that impressive. I hope these two underdogs will make it on the next round. Is it just me that I find Danny Gokey and Lil Rounds over rated especially Danny Gokey? There's something about them that is missing.

Here are the other top 13 contestants: Alexis Grace, Jasmine Murray, Jorge Nunez, Kris Allen, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy and Michael Sarver.

The elimination round will be exciting. According to Simon Cowell, 2 contestants will go home tomorrow. They have also mentioned that there is something new with the rules of the show. I'm curious what it is. Maybe aside from text votes, the judges will have a say as well.

Kelly Clarkson and Kanye West To Perform in American Idol

The first American Idol Kelly Clarkson will finally perform in American Idol this week's elimination round (Wednesday, US Time). Aside from Kelly Clarkson, the man with super ego Kanye West will also perform.

Thank God, Kelly Clarkson is back in American Idol. I am interested to see if there is tension between her and the judges. As we all know, she had problems before with American Idol and Clive Davis. Would you believe that she doesn't want her songs to be used in American Idol? I think everything has been resolved now.

Kelly Clarkson is promoting her new album "All I Ever Wanted", which will be released tomorrow. Maybe she has realized that American Idol can do good in promoting her new album. Her last album "My December" wasn't a hit compared her smash hit album "Breakaway." She by the way co-wrote most of the songs in "My December" album.

Let's just watch American Idol on Wednesday and Thursday night (Manila and Singapore time) at Star World, 8 P.M.

UPLB vs ABS-CBN's MMK

My friend told me about this story and I was quite interested to write about it since I have watched the "Blusa" episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. The "Blusa" episode by the way is a story of a woman who allegedly graduated summa cum laude in University of the Philippines Los Baños. The woman who was played by Angel Locsin ended up being a dancer in a club after many attempts to find a job in Manila. She went crazy eventually after her father passed away.

When I was watching this episode of MMK, I already noticed some strange scenarios. How can a summa cum laude graduate of UPLB cannot find a job? I thought employers will be the one that will hunt for you instead. Haven't the writers of MMK noticed that?

Anyway, here is the complete letter of UPLB to ABS-CBN:

"Our attention has been called by constituents and alumni to an episode featured in Maala-ala Mo Kaya entitled "Blusa," which was aired on ABS-CBN on Feb. 28 and on TFC recently. Our constituents and alumni were concerned whether the episode was based on truth.

The story was of a woman who allegedly graduated BS AgriBusiness, summa cum laude, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños or UPLB, who could not find a job, and ended up a stripper. We tried to find out who the subject was by tracking all 27 of our summa cum laude graduates from the time the University was established in 1909. We could not find anyone matching the subject as portrayed in "Blusa."

Whether or not the subject was a UPLB graduate, we deeply sympathize with her and her family. However, in the interest of maintaining its reputation as a truthful storyteller, the MMK should have a mechanism to validate claims by letter senders especially those that require a stretch of imagination as to be believed.

While indeed touching and a perfect example of a human-interest story, "Blusa" regrettably affected the reputation of UPLB as an educational institution and its constituents and alumni. We therefore request ABS-CBN to set the record straight and correct the wrong impression that it created among its viewers. We also make an appeal to producers of similar programs to be more prudent in reporting stories with claims that would affect the reputation not only of a school but also of its alumni in the Philippines and abroad."

American Idol Season 8 Scoop

American Idol Season 8 opened last week with a 30.1 million hungry American Idol fanatics including me. The number one show in America is definitely back even with a 10% drop to last year's opening show. American Idol's new fourth judge Kara Dioguardi did not help boost the talent show's rating, which according to statistics continues to drop every year.

It was obvious that more talents are shown rather than the William Hung "She Bangs" kinds. It's just a fresh look for me to have a new judge. And she's pretty and she can sing. What is the use of another fourth judge when two votes are needed to be in the contest? It was nice though to see a lady judge with a teeth. With her on the panel, it's more balanced: 2 men and 2 women. Both sides with teeth and not afraid to say what is on their mind.

Third week of American Idol Season 8 is still the audition process. I can't wait to watch the Hollywood episode and the Top 36.
