Scary Guest

I left the office almost 6:30 in the evening yesterday. I helped my officemate in sorting the post-dated checks we need today. Anyway, when I arrived in Robinson’s Galleria, I was light-headed and had decided to just have my dinner at the Food Court. I had the Pork Liempo combo and an extra fried egg from Baliwag Express.

I got into the bus around 7:30 P.M. I was hoping that I would arrive my apartment before 8 P.M. so I could watch the second episode of American Idol. Anyway, when I was about to enter our gate, I immediately felt that there’s something different. There’s someone inside our premises. When I heard someone moving, I immediately asked, “Who is there?” This someone ain’t talking so I asked again with a frightened and cracked voice. Thoughts came into me that he could be a ghost or a killer. I was so scared that I don’t know what to do. I was about to switch on my cell phone light torch when she finally talked. I was relieved that she is the sister of my housemate. According to her, she can’t get it because his brother was asleep. We got in the house using my key and she just waited for her brother to wake up.

And oh, I was able to watch American Idol just 15 minutes late. Some contestants are really hilarious. Wasn’t able to watch the Filipino contestant coz I watched Desperate Housewives.

Studio 23’s New Episodes and American Idol!

Finally after a month of hiatus, Studio 23 aired fresh episodes of Grey’s Anatomy yesterday night. I also noticed from TV plugs of Studio 23 that Brothers & Sisters Season 2 would air on January 28 still on the 9:30 P.M. timeslot.

I’m glad to see that Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty would air fresh episodes as well this week. Isn’t that great? I know there is an ongoing writer’s strike but the mentioned series are almost finished airing in the US so there’s no reason to air replay episodes.

Speaking of new season, my favorite American Idol would premiere its Season 7 this Wednesday and Thursday at 6 P.M. and 8 P.M. on Star World and QTV 11. For sure I would be glued to this talent show again.

Replay Episodes

If you plan to watch your favorite TV shows in Studio 23 this week, I think you should just do other things. Apparently this week, all of the international TV shows in Studio 23 is on replay.

I think this is a brilliant idea since people are busy this holiday season preparing for gifts, parties and other stuffs. What made me think that they would show replay episodes this week? I think it was yesterday that I saw the preview of the next episodes of Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters and Grey’s Anatomy, all of which are replay episodes. I’m a follower of these shows and I am 100% certain that I have seen those episodes already.

Bazaar Shopping

Last Friday during our lunch break, we went to the bazaar in our building’s auditorium. The usual, they sell more female items than the males. There are clothes, bags, accessories, food, books, children toys and even aromatherapy oils.

pig wrist support mouseJust beside the food section, I saw this silicone like item shaped in cartoon characters (Snoopy and Hello Kitty) and animals. It is supposedly a wrist support used hand-in-hand with the computer mouse. I did not bring my wallet at that time so I just borrowed money from my officemate. This wrist support costs 50 pesos from the original price tag of 149 pesos. Cool huh! What a great bargain price! And have I told you that this wrist support glows in the dark? Nice! Haven’t tried it though if it really glows in the dark. I bought the colorless pig character. Isn’t he cute?

pig wrist support mouseDuring our snack break, we went back to the bazaar and bought another wrist support. After that, I checked out the books section. I saw this catalog book of Desperate Housewives and Will & Grace. I really like these two sitcoms so I asked for the price. I was amazed that it is actually affordable. The Desperate Housewives Season 1 catalog costs 190 pesos while the Will & Grace catalog book costs 99 pesos. I was ecstatic that I got the two-catalog book for only 199 pesos. I was able to haggle the Desperate Housewives catalog book to 100 pesos. According to the sales lady, it usually costs 700 pesos in bookstores. Cool, cool, cool!

Now, what I need is a magazine rack.

Desperate Housewives Episode 3 or 2?

Just finished watching a fresh US episode of Desperate Housewives on Studio 23. At the ending of the supposed episode 3 of Season 4, I noticed that it was actually episode 2 and not episode 3. That’s why on last week’s episode, I noticed on their last episode’s recap that I missed some portions of it. And those portions were actually shown on tonight’s episode.

Studio 23 should be careful in the sequence of what they are airing. What’s so difficult in the sequence 1-2-3? Anyway on tonight’s episode, I was touched with Gabby’s story about her dad’s ill disease. According to her, she watched her dad die on the bed with cancer. She was five years old then.

I would prepare now to go to bed. I would stay with my parent’s house tomorrow until Saturday. My youngest sister would celebrate her birthday on Saturday and my other sister would fly to UK this Saturday late afternoon. She would study there and would do part-time jobs. I’m excited for my sister. How I wish I would have the same opportunity as her. Bon Voyage!

Desperate Housewives Season 4 Philippine Premiere

Desperate Housewives Season 4 episode 1Last Thursday night, Desperate Housewives Season 4 premiered on Studio 23. After the controversy it had created, I still watched it. The first episode has many surprises for its avid viewers like me.

The season 3 cliff hanger scene has finally been answered. It’s funny that Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) would do anything for love. It just paid her a neck injury from trying to kill herself from hanging. I was laughing hard when she decided to hang herself just in time for Carlos Solis (Ricardo Chavira) to see her when suddenly Mrs. McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten) called Carlos outside.

Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) on the other hand is pregnant with Mike Delfino (James Denton) and not in menopause. The controversial scene of Susan and her gynecologist was finally edited out. I’m just not sure if Studio 23 or ABC edited it out.

I was surprised to see Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) bald from her Chemo treatment. She finally exposed her medical problems to her friends. Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross) continues her fake pregnancy to protect her daughter. Would they get caught by their neighbors? Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) on the other page is having an affair with her ex husband Carlos Solis after hearing the truth of her politician husband.

Desperate Housewives airs on Studio 23 every Thursday, 9:30 P.M.

Scary Laundry

When I got home yesterday, I had my dinner first then went on with my laundry. I did my laundry outside where I can hear my neighbor singing and laughing. While doing the laundry, I was frightened to see rodents entering our gate to the plants near our gate. I am not sure if they are four rodents or just three.

While doing the laundry, I was very scared and paranoid. A neighbor cat even had a “Tom and Jerry” scene with one of the rodents. They even passed me on my back. I did not finish my laundry outside and just continued doing it in our dirty kitchen. I finished by 9:30 P.M. just in time for Desperate Housewives. I thought it’s the Season 4 special but it’s just a recap to what happened last season.

By 10 P.M., I tuned in to America’s Next Top Model Cycle 8. While watching the show, I felt my hunger. I went outside after the show then bought cheeseburger.

Desperate Housewives To Be Banned?

Desperate HousewivesLast night still at the news, I saw that some politicians are lobbying for the banning of Desperate Housewives in the Philippines as well as other Asian countries. From my side, I only want a personal apology from the producers, scriptwriters and Teri Hatcher herself addressed to the Filipino medical professionals, medical educators and the Filipino people.

That apology should be aired on the premiere episode of Desperate Housewives Season 4 here in the Philippines on October 18 on Studio 23. Aside from that it should be re-edited without that malign sentence.

Politicians should focus more on the problems of the country and not on controversial issues like this one. Would you prioritize the banning of this show or the hungry Filipino? These politicians would ride on these issues to be popular. Instead of doing their work they all become showbiz personalities.

Honestly, I like this show and it would upset me a lot if this show would be banned. No to the banning of Desperate Housewives!

Desperate Housewives’ Producers Says Sorry

Desperate Housewives PhilippinesFinally, after the Filipino community shared their views and rage to the Desperate Housewives Season 4 premiere episode, the producers of the hit US TV series issued an apology for the insulting line that belittled the practitioners of the medical profession in the Philippines.

"The producers of Desperate Housewives and ABC Studios offer our sincere apologies for any offence caused [by the insulting remark] in the season premier," ABC Network said in a short statement of apology obtained by ABS-CBN North America News Bureau.

ABC Network added: "There was no intent to disparage the integrity of any aspect of the medical community in the Philippines."

The network's apology came after the Filipino community, particularly Filipino health workers, in the US and doctors in the Philippines deplored the insulting line uttered by actress Teri Hatcher's character, Susan Mayer in the show's Season 4 premier aired Sunday.

In one of the premier's scene Mayer asked for the credentials of the gynecologist who examined her and told her that she was approaching menopause.

Mayer said: "Can I check those diplomas 'coz I just want to make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines."

Racist Remark Against Filipino Doctors In Desperate Housewives

Desperate Housewives PhilippinesIn the September 30, 2007 episode of Desperate Housewives entitled, “Now You Know”, Susan’s character (Teri Hatcher) was questioning about the credibility of a gynecologist when her doctor told her that she might be hitting menopause. Susan’s reply was, “Ok before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Cause I would just like to make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines."

I honestly have been following this series from Season 1 to 3. It has been a favorite show of mine coz it made me laugh and it’s very entertaining. I was very surprised yesterday that I received an email from my Yahoo groups about this racist remark. Bringing

With that I joined the petition for the apology of ABC and Desperate Housewives to Filipinos. You may also sign the online petition by clicking this link.

Rainy Pasig Day

I woke up 11 in the morning today with an incoming SMS message from an officemate inquiring about something. It is Pasig Day today. Only selected officers are required to be in the office to attend to our branches need. After calling the office, I took a bath then had my breakfast.

I finished the remaining episodes of Desperate Housewives and watched episodes 3 to 5 of Lost. Before 5 P.M., I took my quick nap. When I woke up, it’s already raining and humid inside my room. I took a shower again and watched the evening news.

Arggh, there’s work again tomorrow. I have many month-end reports to do. I just hope it won’t pour tomorrow.

One More Day

I have until tomorrow to finish the system development of my new project. I hope I could finish it today, so I could just do finishing touches tomorrow. Anyway, the only missing component in my system is the report module and I’m done. After that, I could focus on the design of my system. At this point, it still looks dull and unappealing to me.

Anyway, last night I almost finished the book I’m currently reading, “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey. A few more pages and I could start reading “Song Of Solomon” by Toni Morrison. I would be glad to post my book review for “A Million Little Pieces.”

Still last night, I watched two episodes of Desperate Housewives Season 3 with my sisters. It’s really fun to watch and there are always surprises in every episode. I can’t wait to finish the remaining episodes—I’m still on episode 14. After watching Desperate Housewives, we tuned in to Channel 2 and watched Pinoy Big Brother Season 2. If last Wednesday’s episode I was pissed off with Wendy, yesterday’s episode went way above pissed off level. She’s like the resurrected Richard Hatch and Sue of Survivor Season 1. She’s just getting into my nerves! Biatch!

Primetime TV Galore

Today was an extravagant TV watching for me. I got to watch the latest episode of The Amazing Race: All Stars over Studio 23, which is 30 minutes earlier from AXN. It was sad that my other bet, Uchenna and Joyce was the last team to arrive and was eliminated. I’m still hoping that Charla and Mirna would win this race.

The sad part on watching Amazing Race on Studio 23 is that the quality is compromised. Studio 23 even displays a black screen with lapses. What’s wrong with Studio 23’s satellite receiver?

Anyway, right after Amazing Race is the premiere episode of Desperate Housewives latest season. After a long time of waiting, finally, I could watch it every week. After Desperate Housewives, I tuned in to Pinoy Big Brother Season 2. Dionne finally confessed to Mickey that she has feelings for him. If Mickey could understand Dionne’s dialect. What a flirt girl! She disgusts me a lot. Is she thinking her actions in the house? What would her “kababayan” in the Visayas would react to her? I just hope she would be evicted this week.

Monday Blues

First day of the week, and I’m still feeling sick. I have this dry cough and I feel so weak. Just after doing my push up this morning, I felt a pain in my left shoulder. Ouch!

This weekend, I just stayed home. Had a quality time with my bed and the television. Though my cough is hurting my weekend rest.

I’m listening now to RX93.1 online. Guess what, the same Amazing Race Classic Moments plug in AXN has a radio version. Wahahaha! Speaking of Amazing Race, I didn’t have the chance to watch it this weekend. It’s the same time slot of America’s Next Top Model.

I’ve got to see the movie, A Lot Like Love yesterday over Star Movies. I’m just curious what happened after the scene where Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) was in the cemetery talking to Emily (Amanda Peet) on the cell? I changed stations and watched Desperate Housewives. Can anyone tell me? When I clicked back to it, Emily and Oliver got back together.

Have a nice week guys!
