Many celebrities have graced the show and encouraged people to donate. To name a few Robin Williams was there, Brad Pitt, Teri Hatcher, David Spade, Billy Crystal and so many more celebrities. I enjoyed the performances of Carrie Underwood of course, Fergie, Heart, John Legend, Snoop Dogg, Annie Lenox, Gloria Estefan and Miley Cyrus.
What’s so interesting is that Mariah Carey performed “Fly Like A Bird” from her biggest selling album “The Emancipation of Mimi.” She had performed this song in the Grammy’s if I am not mistaken. While I was watching her performance, I was like on the edge of my bed, wishing that she wouldn’t be pitchy. I still like her performance from the Grammy’s. Anyway, she looked hot and sexy. I did not know Randy Jackson could play the bass guitar. It isn’t obvious that Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson are best buddies. Anyway, I was expecting that Paula Abdul would perform her new song, but I guess it isn’t that inspirational.
The songs performed in the Idol Gives Back show are available in iTunes. Proceeds will still go charities. For your donations, you may visit the American Idol website for the complete details.
