ABS-CBN versus AGB Nielsen

Last week on the news, I’ve learned that ABS-CBN filed a civil case against AGB Nielsen for apparently releasing erroneous and manipulated TV ratings. ABS-CBN Management knew about this last November when a former employee of the syndicate that manipulates the TV ratings finally reported it to ABS-CBN.

The former employee was based on Bacolod and according to him they offer 500 pesos and groceries every month to the household with the AGB TV rating meter in exchange for just tuning in to the programs of GMA 7, the rival network of ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN filed the case when AGB Nielsen continued to release TV ratings even ABS-CBN had reported the incident to AGB Nielsen. If this is true, for certain, cheating from other provinces and also here in Metro Manila is happening.

ABS-CBN continues to lead the nationwide TV ratings. It’s rival networks should not resort to cheating. Instead of cheating why not improve your TV programs. Instead of financing money to cheat, why not use this money to produce high quality shows.
