Filipino Solo Artists Suck

If you have the time to listen to localized radio stations or even to music channels, you should have noticed that most of our Filipino solo artists are just doing covers or reviving hits from the past. Isn’t that frustrating? What happened to the talent of Filipino musicians? Will they just survive from reviving songs to make sure that it will be a hit and they will make money?

Kyla, Jaya, Sheryn Regis, Erik Santos and Mark Bautista are some of the artists that are doing revival songs. The only good thing with the Filipino music scene is the booming careers of the local bands, which by the way are mostly creating new songs. I just admire these bands that are working their creative juices to make new songs.

Enough of the cover songs! We music lovers want fresh songs.

If you like this post, buy me a cup of coffee.

They don't suck. I think its an unfair way to describe them. Artists do that because it sells. But that's not an excuse not to do original stuff.

that's why i opted not to tune in with fm stations. i just download songs and burn it... currently addicted with new wave and 80s dance hits. enough with the revivals!

revival is the game of the intertainment industry today..from music to telenovelas. sad...no new idea, no new concept...

Nakakainis nga panay revival na lang. Si Regine ren nagrerevive, well minsan. Parang yung West Life, lahat na lang ata ng kanta nila eh revival. Di ba nakakainis yung ganun.
