I saw the former President Joseph Estrada on the news last night. He was visiting her ailing mother in the hospital and was even have time to visit his former office in San Juan when he was Mayor back then.
I just find it weird that a convicted criminal like Joseph Estrada has this privilege to go outside. Rules are rules and it should be followed. I don’t care if you are a former President. You did a crime and you must face your sentence. Instead of being sentenced in Tanay, he should be transferred to Muntinlupa.
This country should stop politicking it’s nauseating! Instead of moving forward and facing the countries problems, politicians tend to give political favors. Tsk tsk tsk.

Di na luma yan sa pandinig at sa mga nakakakita ngayon sa hustisya ng Pilipinas. Pero ako'y umaasa at nananalig na meron pa rin mga politiko na gustong masugpo ang mga halinaw at ganid sa paggamit ng kapangyarihan at kayaman. Ika nga ng iba "no money, no honey". Nakakatuwang kataga pero kung susumahin mo ito'y makakatotohanan sa karamihan.
Siya na rin nagsabi "Batas ay batas".. at "walang kapatid.. kapatid" kaya dapat lang masimulan at maging halimbawa sa kanya.

they are even considering pardon...and he even thinks of visiting his mom who is in the hospital...i don't mean to be rude but i think estrada should suffer like a normal criminal...his deeds are much compared to the faults of some petty criminals pero he is accorded with much accomodationa dn lee way...tama ba yun?

What i don’t understand about the sentence though is, Erap’s being asked to return only 500M+ of the money that he was accused of plundering. Aren’t we supposed to be talking about billions here? Another thing is, he was sentenced “Reclusion Perpetua” or 40 years of being imprisoned, guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Meaning he’s labeled a “criminal” and yet allowed to serve this sentence in his comfortable “resort” in Tanay, Rizal instead of the criminal’s haven in “Munti”. At his age, that’s simply like being placed in an old-age home which is even more comfortable and luxurious. The reason? “because of the position he held prior to conviction”. Isn’t it unfair? I thought no one should be above the law and there should be no exceptions.
Erap was simply sentenced to take a vacation in his resort for life! whew!
@Parisukat: I did not know that he is only asked to return 500M. The Sandiganbayan should do something about this. He's a criminal for god's sake. Make him suffer!
I don't know. They've even considering on giving him pardon... *sigh* Philippines my Philippines....
They simply sentenced him guilty so as not to make President Arroyo's holding the position, Void.. It will make her look worse in the public eye, and other reasons, with hidden agendas lurking of course...
But as a part of the deal.. of course the sentence turned out a "walk in the park" for Erap.
