Rihanna and Chris Brown Releasing New Albums

Rihanna and Chris Brown Releasing New Albums
The ex-couple Rihanna and Chris Brown are set to release their new albums before the year ends.  Rihanna's new album is titled "Rated R" which I think is more angsty.  Rihanna's fourth studio album will be on sale on November 20.  Her first single to that album is "Russian Roulette", written by Ne-Yo and herself.

Chris Brown on the other hand will release his third studio album titled "Graffiti" on December 15.  His lead single for that album "I Can Transform Ya", which features Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz is already charting in Billboard (#16).  There is one catchy song from his album titled "Changed Man" that I think was related to the Rihanna incident.

Andrew Lloyd Webber Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Andrew Lloyd Webber Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer
The man behind "The Phantom Of The Opera" was diagnosed recently with prostate cancer.  The 61-year old musical genius is fortunate that the cancer was caught in its early stage.

Sir Andrew Lloyd is now undergoing treatment and will be back at work at the end of the year.

Aside from "The Phantom of the Opera", his other works are "Cats", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Evita" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Webber's latest project is the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera titled "Phantom: Love Never Dies." Love Never Dies will open at the West End in 9 March 2010, 11 November 2010 in Broadway and in Australia in 2011.

Stephen Gately Found Dead

Stephen Gately Found Dead
Boyzone member Stephen Gately was found dead yesterday.  The 33 year-old band member died after going out in Majorca.  According to his close friend, Stephen went out for a few drinks, got home, fell asleep and never woke up.

Boyzone manager and its members are devasted with the sad news.  They are now on their way to Palma, Majorca to reunite with Stephen.

Stephen Gately is known in the music industry as one of the lead singers of Boyzone.  He went solo in 2000 when Boyzone disbanded.  He then appeared on many stage productions and television programs.  Last year, Boyzone went back together and had concerts and recorded new songs.

Barbara Streisand Beats Paramore and Mariah Carey

Barbara Streisand Beats Paramore and Mariah Carey
The battle in the number one spot in the US album sales have been interesting since Paramore and Mariah Carey have been reported to be neck-to-neck with Paramore. Surprisingly, the David of the bunch, Barbara Streisand won the battle with 180,000 copies.

Paramore landed on the second spot with 175,112 while Mariah Carey was on the third spot with 167,912 copies. Barbara Streisand at age 67 is now tied with The Beatles on third place for the top 10 album first week sales.

Mariah Carey's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is a bad debut for the diva. Her previous album "E=MC2" debuted with 463,000. On the other hand, Paramore's third studio album "Brand New Eyes" is the band's most successful album to date. It even debuted #1 on the UK Album Charts.
