I was very shocked when I read this article from the Straits Times that CEO’s in Singapore has big salaries as much as 9 million SGD a year. This was brought to the strong growth of economy last year. CEO’s have increased their salaries as much as 150%. The Straits Times even listed the top 10 executives which are mostly from the bank and real estate industry. How I wish I could earn as much as they earn.Here are the top 10 executives listed by the Straits Times:
1. Lim Chee Onn, Executive Chairman of Keppel Corporation. 8.75 to 9 million SGD in 2007 and 7.25 to 7.5 million SGD in 2006.
2. Kwek Leng Beng, Executive Chairman of City Developments. 7.75 to 8 million SGD in 2007 and 4.25 to 4.5 million SGD in 2006.
3. Jackson Tai, Vice Chairman and CEO of DBS Group Holdings. 7 to 7.25 million SGD in 2007 and 7.5 to 7.75 million SGD in 2006.
4. Tang Kin Fei, Group President and CEO of Sembcorp Industries. 6.8 million SGD in 2007 and 3.06 million SGD in 2006.
5. Lim Chee Onn, Executive Chairman of Keppel Corporation. 8.75 to 9 million SGD in 2007 and 7.25 to 7.5 million SGD in 2006.
6. Hsieh Fu Hua, CEO of Singapore Exchange. 6.38 million SGD in 2007 and 4.27 million SGD in 2006.
7. We Ee Cheong, Deputy Chairman of UOB. 6 to 6.25 million SGD in 2007 and 3.75 to 3.99 million SGD in 2006.
8. David Conner, CEO of OCBC. 6 to 6.25 million SGD in 2007 and 5 to 5.25 million SGD in 2006.
9. Han Cheng Fong, Managing Director and Group CEO of Fraser and Neave. 4.74 million SGD in 2007 and 2 to 2.25 million SGD in 2006.
10. Tan Kwi Kin, Group President and CEO of Sembcorp Marine. 4.55 million SGD in 2007 and 4.13 million SGD in 2006.

oh well! they deserve what they earn.. being the top guy of their management chain requires workloads of responsibilities so they have to get their fair share too..
