Last Day In The Office

It was a hectic day in the office—my last day. I was cramming to finish my work turnover and managed to squeeze my personal stuff. I was able to change my billing address for my credit cards and savings accounts. I have also inquired for the buying rate of US dollars and have encashed my last pay. Would you believe that the buying rate yesterday in Security Bank is 44.30 pesos while in BPI it only cost 43.26 pesos. I have asked PinayJade, a blogger friend in Singapore and she told me that I can just withdraw my money from my ATM in Singapore. That way I can save more than buying dollars. Nice idea huh!

For my last day in the office, I ordered a large and medium bilao of Pancit Lucban and for our department I ordered for a family size Bacon Cheeseburger Supreme pizza. After lunch, my officemate and I bought paper plates, plastic forks and many liters of Coca Cola and Sprite. I did not know that there’s a free 1.5 liters of Pepsi Max when you order in Pizza Hut.

I called Buddy’s and Pizza Hut at around 3 P.M. and have asked them to deliver at exactly 4 P.M. It was just disappointing that both of them came late. Almost 4:30 in the afternoon. I was exhausted and stressed from all what I’m doing that day. I have asked a friend in the Accounting department to help me out in the portioning of the Pancit Lucban while the HR officer was interviewing me. Thanks again to Ms. Malou for the help.

It was a quick exit interview. I thought it would be hard. Lying wasn’t even necessary. Hehehe…

When I got back our department, I told my officemates to eat. We went to the pantry to get some Pancit Lucban then we started feasting with my despedida food. I never thought that I could even eat. I had two slices of pizza and a small portion of Pancit Lucban.

I really appreciated the nice words of my officemates and their well wishes for my Singapore life. It’s just sad that I will leave this Friday. I will miss them terribly especially my boss and my friends in MIS Department.

I left the office almost 7 P.M. with a medium paper bag with my jacket, coffee mug and the flat iron my officemate did not buy.
