Yesterday morning, I received a call from the recruitment agency. After almost two weeks of looking for work, they finally told me that I got the job. Isn’t that great. I think it was Tuesday that I signed the employment contract and the work permit form (epass). The recruitment officer even told me that I have to wait for about two weeks to know if I got the job when it was only a sense of formality. I think I left a good impression to the employer after the interview and the technical test (not that I am bragging about it). The recruitment officer even told me that she has insisted that I deserve the position even there is an applicant with a 1,000 SGD lower expected salary (I’m not bragging again).
Because I got the job and it was my mom’s birthday, I went to church last night to thank God for all the outpouring blessings that he continues to give me. I am very thankful for all my friends and loved ones that have prayed for me. God indeed never forsake me. I just hope you will continue to pray for me especially for my mom.
On our way home from the church, I received this call from another recruitment agency offering me a job—a higher salary compared to the one I have signed. I immediately told him that I am unavailable but the idea of earning more really bugged me. When I got home, I realized that I should stick to the job that I have accepted. I shouldn’t be greedy. This might be a test from God. That’s what I told my housemate.
