Friday night, I finally watched the high acclaimed movie of Felicity Huffman, Transamerica. I think she was nominated in her performance in this movie. Anyway, the movie was about a transsexual man on his final stage of transformation. Felicity Huffman looked a bit pale and weird looking. She even changed her voice but has a bit trace of her original voice. The movie was not the usual movie we watch in movie houses. It deals with the sensitive issue, sex change and the difficult life they have.
Just before I had my dinner, I watched the movie, “Kubrador” (The Bet Collector) starred by Gina Pareno. Gina Pareno won many international awards from this movie. The movie is about the life of a “Kubrador” or a collector of an illegal gambling, “Jueteng.” Would you believe that a “kubrador” gets 15% of her daily collections? It’s just sad to know that people have to engage in illegal gambling just to get by their daily lives. If only our government could give them jobs or livelihood projects they would somehow leave this kind work.If you like this post, buy me a cup of coffee.
