Memories Of My Melancholy Whores Book Review

Memories Of My Melancholy Whores - Gabriel Garcia MarquezLast Sunday, I read the book Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I finally have decided to skip reading the book Mother Of Pearl since I was bored reading it. Would you believe that after many tries of reading it from the start I didn’t have the patience to continue reading it?

Anyway, Memories of My Melancholy Whores is only a five-chapter book if I may recall. The book tells about the story of a 90-year-old writer that was drawn to a young lady whore. His love for this whore (sorry for the tern) turned his weekly column in a newspaper into a weekly love letter.

In general it’s a good read. With only five chapters, the story ran fast and smooth. It’s just disappointing that the story ended without conclusion. I want to know what happened to the old man and the young lady. It would be nice if they ended up together.

If you like this post, buy me a cup of coffee.
