At lunch break today, I browsed the Inquirer.net website and saw the breaking news about Joey Marquez. Our former Paranaque city mayor was guilty of graft charges by the Ombudsman. The graft charges were about the overpricing of broomsticks and the questionable requisition of it without following the bidding procedure.
This verdict should be a wake up call to all public servants not to steal. You were chosen by the people to lead and to serve and not to steal money from your constituents. Verdicts of the Ombudsman should be raised to scare off these traditional politicians.
